“Mind Safety II-Safety Matters! Within the scope of the project, "The Future of OHS Teaching for Primary and Secondary Education Teachers Workshop" was held with the participation of the relevant social parties.
“Mind Safety II-Safety Matters! The main purpose of the project is to improve the way health and safety issues are explained to students in schools and to bring innovations to the methods used. It is aimed to support students to work in safe conditions and to live as responsible individuals after graduation. Occupational Health and Safety issues are not included in the primary and secondary education curricula of any of the countries partnering with the project. However, it is important to increase the awareness and knowledge level of individuals on this issue at an early age in order to create and support a safety culture. In our country, the subject of OHS is not yet covered in the National Education curriculum. However, in accordance with the protocol signed between our Ministry and the Ministry of National Education in 2019, it is planned to add OHS subjects to the curriculum in the coming years. The outputs of this project will also provide input to this integration process.
ÇASGEM, as a project partner, will support the disadvantaged groups, especially the visually impaired, in the subjects of communication, anti-discrimination approach and OHS, and in the preparation of training modules and materials to be used in trainings for these groups. Materials for visually impaired students will be prepared in Braille alphabet.
In this context, a Workshop on the Future of OHS Teaching for Primary and Secondary Education Teachers was held with the social partners, and the needs were determined and risks were determined with a road map with the participation of the relevant social parties. The module to be prepared after the workshop will be shared with the social partners in the second workshop and will take its final form. After the module work is completed, pilot trainings will be given in voluntary schools, the module will be tested and reported to the partners.
